Color guard combines flags, sabers, rifles and other equipment with dance and interpretive movement to bring the marching show, and the winter floor, to life.
Being part of this rewarding activity gives students hard work, time management, self-esteem, friendship and fun. Our members are extremely dedicated in their commitment to excellence.
The Season
A year with the color guard
With the marching band
Guard rehearses and performs alongside the marching band. Rehearsals begin in July and run through football and marching-contest season.
An independent sport
In winter the guard competes on its own in WGI and the Texas Color Guard Circuit, World, A and JV units, through the late winter and early spring.
World champions
In 2025 the World Guard became the first Texas team ever to win the WGI World Championship, the pinnacle of the activity.
