From the Friday-night marching band to three spring concert ensembles, the TWHS Band & Guard is one of the largest and most decorated programs in Texas.
For fifty years, The Woodlands has built musicians, leaders and lifelong friends, hundreds at a time.
What started as a high-school band has become a nationally recognized program: a Bands of America Grand National Champion, a three-time Sousa Foundation honoree, and in 2025 the first Texas color guard ever to win a WGI World Championship.
But the record is only half the story. Ask a parent and they’ll tell you the real value is what the program does for a kid over four years: the friendships, the standard, the confidence that carries into everything after.

The Woodlands’ own marching contest
Every October, the best bands in Texas come to us.
A full day of prelims and finals scored by a panel of nationally respected adjudicators, the same caliber that judges state and national championships. Hosted at Woodforest Bank Stadium and run entirely by our parents, it’s one of the program’s largest fundraisers and a premiere marching competition experience for the community.
